You’ve lent your ear to hear
Every one of my thoughts and fears.
You have stood by my side,
Even when I need to go and hide.
You never listened to what others say.
You stood by me all the way.
For many long years we’ve been friends.
I sure hope our friendship never ends.
Together we have laughed and cried
Until we had a cramp in our side.
Remember when we were aliens from the moon?
We had hoped to get back home soon.
But it feels like we’ve drifted apart,
And that really breaks my heart.
It feels like I am losing you.
I really want to start anew.
You’ve made other friends I know,
But we can stay friends though.
We can’t throw many years away,
And live our lives from day to day.
